Medical Assistant

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Certification is preferred.
1-2 years experience is preferred.

Description:
To function as a member of a team and complete all daily tasks to ensure smooth day to day operations in a busy practice located in Whitman, MA.
The position is Monday, Tuesday, Friday 7:30am-6pm; Saturday 8:30am-2:30pm.
Responsibilities:
Vitals
Room placement
Record patient history, chief complaint, pharmacy info, medication list, etc into EMR
Quality Measures
Administer Injections
EKGs
Telephone Triage
Stocking of rooms
Calling patients with lab/test results
Communication with hospitals, hospice, lab, VNA and other healthcare facilities
Maintain and monitor PT/INR results
Ordering tests, obtaining prior authorizations
Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Education from approved medical assistant program or equivalent
1 to 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
Experience with electronic medical record strongly preferred (Athena/ECW a plus)


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
